ABOUT ME
JARREN KITCHENS
Thanks for being here!
I'm Jarren Kitchens, a personal trainer and licensed massage therapist with over 7 years in the industry.
The majority of my career has been spent working with adults who struggle to exercise without chronic pain flair-ups whose goals center around strength and mobility and desire to remain active and continue to enjoy what they love to do.
I'm pretty nerdy about what I do. I've continued my education through countless institutions, however, I pull most of my inspiration from The Postural Restoration Institute, The Chek Institute, and use elements of the Limb Arc Model.
I've been fortunate to have been able to work alongside some very skilled practitioners such as physical therapists, chiropractors, and other strength coaches who have all played as somewhat mentors in my career. As I like to say "it pays to be the least knowledgable person in the room".
My Approach
Not one of my client's programs is the same.
There are a few elements I base my approach off of.
1. What are your goals?
This is the foundation that dictates the direction of your program and is the main factor for exercise selection.
2. Where are you on your journey?
All of us are at different places with our fitness level. Therefore, it's best that I meet you where you're at
3. What story does your posture tell?
The only "bad" posture, is the one you can't get into. Posture tells a story on how your body handles gravity. Understanding your posture helps us understand which exercises will give you the biggest bang for your buck.
4. How well do you breathe?
Breathing has a huge mechanical influence on our mobility and posture, how we protect and support our spine and joints during exercise, and how well we recover from strenuous workouts. If you can "respire" well, you can move well
